Why I could never be a vegetarian...
Let me start off by saying I have nothing against vegetarians. In fact, several of my closest friends are vegetarians for different reasons. Could I marry a vegetarian? Sure, on a condition. He'd have to be ok with handling meat and cooking it since I'm not about to cook EVERY day for the both of us. I can cook stuff for him when it's my turn, and he can cook stuff for me when it's his turn. So long as he's cool with that, then yes. I just couldn't be married to someone who's constantly making comments about how something I eat or cook is disgusting or whatever.

But meat is such an important part of my diet. Sure, I don't need meat to survive. I can get my protein through other ways, such as other foods or spending lotsa $ on supplements. But it just goes back to my upbringing and heritage. You don't see very many vegetarian hispanics. Meat is a big part of our cuisine. Just the fact that I'm not big on fish has me missing out on a lot of traditional Mexican dishes. But I can't begin to tell you how many interesting dishes I've had that centered around meat. I'm also one of those people who will eat most anything if I enjoy the taste, regardless of what it is (cow tongue, for instance, is a delicious dish). I don't freak out when I learn that what I ate came from a non-appetizing source. Perhaps I can do fear factor...heh, jk.

I had a convo with a vegan once, who compared drinking milk from cows to drinking milk from dogs (her point being that drinking milk from another animal is gross). She asked if I would drink milk from a dog. I think she was a bit surprised by my answer ("first off, I don't think you can milk a dog like you milk a cow, but assuming you could, and it was the social norm i'd been raised in, then absolutely.")

Now, the point of this post: I love barbeque. Seriously, it's absolutely delicious to me. Pulled pork in particular...mmmm, especially Carolina-styled bbq. So darn good!

The firm is taking the summer associates to this local bbq place that has become a big success story, so I've been waiting to see what the hype is all about. Kinda funny that the firm would choose to take us to a bbq place, especially since there's the underlying assumption that we're not vegetarian. Heh, but there's the good ol' south for ya.

Yes, it si indeed a slow day at work, hehe.

I do not place blame...I merely called you silly for blaming the sun. ;)

But if you want to die in the name of tofu...hey, your call.

When do you start teaching again?
